Line Manager: Research and Development Director

OVERVIEW

The Product Development Manager manages the process of developing a product or enhancing existing products in order to meet customer expectations effectively. Product developers conduct research, develop proposals, and supervise the overall product development process.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1.Conduct initial meeting to discuss new product ideas, understand product specifications

2. Initiate a project analysis to identify project specifications, tea ---------- mbers involved and assigned responsibilities, budget, pricing analysis, project risks, milestones

3. Present project plan to stakeholders and secure approval

4. Support to Market Analyst with
* User and Competitor ---------- and Analytics, Keywords and Search Volume research, and Markets, Retailer opportunities, upcoming related products, trends
* variations, multipacks, features to improve and differentiations, specifications recommendations
* Product Pricing
* Compliance review
* Identification of test market/s

5. Product Development
* Support Product Specialist in developing product specifications document
* Develop Quality Assurance checklist based on product specifications
* Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure marketing materials alignment with product specifications

6. Ensures that every phase of a particular project proceeds as scheduled
7. Makes adjustments to a development plan whenever the current idea is not working well
8. Oversees product development amongst a team of individuals
9. Presents new ideas to corporate executives in order to gain permission to develop product lines

Qualifications:
- High Level Amazon Product Research and Development experience, preferably 3+ years and above
- Expertise in the product or market research including specifically with Amazon
- Project Manager experience in an ecommerce set-up is an advantage
- PMP certification is a plus!
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Experience working within a collaborative and cross-functional team environment

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Has good problem-solving abilities
- Is able to troubleshoot issues and determine the cause of a plan’s success or failure
- Stays current with the latest trends in merchandise
- Possesses strong marketing skills
- Has excellent leadership abilities
- Keeps up to date with changes in the market and technology that would affect new product development
- Is able to meet deadlines
