We are a fast growing Digital Marketing Agency with an exciting opportunity for a contract Federal Proposal Writer to fill our client’s
Responsibilities:
*Creates strong, interesting content that fulfills company standards and audience goals.
*Uses existing content or generates original content to meet the technical and management requirements for a proposal.
*Attends and contributes to Proposal Development Sessions.
*Develops content that meets the technical approach agreed to by the Proposal Team.
*Leads interviews with client Subject Matter Experts (SME)’s to capture and convert technical concepts and procedures into proposal content.
*Writes, revises and edits drafts including executive summaries, conclusions, and organization credentials.
*Generates innovative ideas for content and workflow solutions.
*Reviews and/or copyedits content developed by other members of the team.
*Completes proposal-related data calls, questionnaires and surveys.
*Maintains quality results by using templates; following proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone.
*Improves proposal-writing results by evaluating and re-designing processes, approach, coordination, and boilerplate.
*Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
*Meets proposal deadline by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing and review.
*Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
*Meets deadlines by being capable of prioritizing responsibilities and balancing workload.
*Supports updates to Past Performance library.
Required Qualifications/Education and Experience:
*Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years’ experience in federal technical writing (procedures, manuals, content, proposals, etc.).
*Knowledgeable in Cybersecurity, IT Staffing, Cloud Computing and Training.
*Proficient understanding of Federal Acquisition and procurement process.
*Knowledge of Federal Contracting structure and agency acquisition procedures required.
*Ability to analyze and break down Requests for Proposals and similar documents to determine structure and themes for a compliant response.
*Ability to support multiple efforts at one time.
*Prior experience with Federal Government Proposal responses (RFP’s).
*Excellent writing skills.
*Excellent communication, coordination and presentation skills.
*Must be able to work independently.
*Must be able to create technical content specific to the contract needs.
*Expertise in full cycle proposal/contract writing (RFP release, submittal and contract award).
*Technical Documentation and Layout Skills are required.
*Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
*Exceptional and consistent attention to detail.
*Strong planning, organization and time management skills.
*Ability to carry out multiple assignments / projects concurrently.
*Ability and willingness to adapt quickly to shifting deadlines and priorities;
*Strong sense of urgency and accountability.
*Positive/proactive attitude and desire to support business
*Experience reflecting process management, attention to detail, immovable deadlines, and the exercise of independent judgment strongly valued.
*Experience analyzing RFP instructions and preparing comprehensive proposal outlines/proposal template files in Microsoft Word.
*Experience conducting interviews with subject matter experts, reviewing product and/or services source materials, and creating writing strategies to meet interim and final review deadlines.
*Skill in editing writing for punctuation, syntax and grammar.
*Expert level experience in MS Word; must be proficient in the mechanics of Word including advanced functions such as the creation and use of templates (.dot), styles, field codes, automated tables of contents, etc.
Preferred Qualifications/Education and Experience:
Shipley training or Shipley certification or equivalent training is a plus.
