The proposed system – Online Manuscript Submission & Peer Review System (Online MSPR System) – aims at achieving the following objectives:

1. The system will automate the process of inviting the authors by the Chief of the Editorial Office.
2. The system will enable authors to login to system and submit their manuscript to the editorial office online.
3. The system will also automate the process of peer review process which involves inviting of reviewers and collecting their submitted comments. The reviewers will login to system, review the manuscript and submit their comments online.
4. The system will completely automate the correspondence among author, editorial office and reviewers by the e-mail facility built into the system.
5. The system will also incorporate a reminder system for every next due task in the whole process.
6. In addition to the automation of workflow, system will also provide various useful reports for the editorial office regarding the status of manuscripts under process.


The proposed application has to be developed using following tools/platform:
ASP.Net – for development of web interfaces i.e. the front end of application
PostgreSQL – the database management system i.e. the back end for the application
Microsoft’s IIS – the web server to support ASP.Net
Window 2000 Advance Server OS – the OS running IIS/.Net application
Sun Solaris UX OS – the OS running PostgreSQL database server.
