Wordpress & React Developer

I'm an online entrepreneur based in New Zealand. My primary business is a small marketing agency serving clients across a range of industries, but with a high percentage of sports related organisations. We build WordPress websites for clients, custom apps and we also have a number of other web app side projects on the go.

I am currently looking for a fulltime (40 hours per week) developer to support me as I run this business.

I'm looking for someone who has at excellent skills in the majority of what I specify in the following job description. If you do not have 100% of the skills I am seeking, please don't let that stop you from applying. I'm looking for someone that is excited to learn and develop into this role. The successful candidate should be hardworking, loyal, communicative, take pride in their work and have high levels of integrity. My goal is to find someone who I can work with for years to come. Full support, training and tools will be provided.

The role is varied and will include a range of tasks including maintenance of existing WordPress websites, development of new websites with Elementor, building web apps with React and hybrid mobile apps with Ionic React framework.

Ideally, the successful candidate would perform the following tasks:
- Development of websites for clients and my own brands using WordPress and Elementor page builder from PSD designs and/or templates
- Maintenance of client websites by following a simple well-documented process
- Development of Wordpress plugins
- Maintenance and development of web applications using React & Firebase (training on relevant frameworks can/will be provided)
- Development and maintenance of hybrid web apps built with React, Firebase and Ionic framework (training on relevant frameworks can/will be provided)
- Some general virtual assistant work may be required

The successful candidate should possess these key skills:
- Competent communicator in English. Reading and writing English to a decent standard is essential, speaking English would also be very valuable.
- Excellent Wordpress development skills using Elementor
- A high level of attention to detail, particularly when it comes to building a website from a PSD
- Average skills in Photoshop and/or Illustrator skills will be beneficial
- SEO skills and experience will be a distinct advantage
- Willingness to be communicative, constantly learning and hard-working.
- A willingness to learn, upskill and develop into the role

This is a full-time role. Pay rate and work hours are negotiable dependent on experience and expertise. Paid leave and 13th month bonus are included.
