Weekend Copy Editors Needed

Claire Entertainment Inc. is a growing content network based in New York City delivering entertainment, lifestyle and sports news to an audience of 4 million people in the United States every month. CE operates Enstarz.com and Sportsworldnews.com and aims to take entertainment news to unchartered levels of enjoyment, importance and interactivity across its multiple platforms (Web, mobile, apps and video).

We are currently seeking Web-savvy weekend copy editors to research, proofread and edit copy while meeting daily deadlines and goals. Candidates must display immaculate proofreading/copyediting skills and a proven ability to deliver well-edited news stories in a timely manner. Copy editors will work Thursday through Sunday. We need copy editors who are well-versed in all facets of pop culture including: News (domestic and international), Celebrity, Gaming, Tech, Fashion and Sports.

Requirements for Weekend Copy Editors:
--Must be able to work Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday
--Journalism, communications or related degree; previous experience for an online publication
--Flawless copyediting and proofreading skills
--AP Style knowledge; SEO skills a plus
--Mastery of the English language
--Impeccable news sense and an eye for trending topics; extensive pop culture knowledge
--Solid writing, research and reporting skills
--Good attitude; ability to handle constructive criticism
--Proficient with Microsoft Office

Responsibilities:
--Copyedit quickly and accurately in a high-pressure news environment to produce popular stories that drive traffic to the site
--Keep abreast of copyediting trends and styles
--Assign topics to writers
--Search the Web for trending topics
