JOB OVERVIEW

Octomedia is a fun, flexible, family-friendly workplace known for creating content with impact across an eclectic mix of business topics from retail, food and hospitality to fashion, news and current affairs.

We’re a team of journalists, designers and strategists who publish a wide range of well-recognised industry titles including Inside Retail, Inside FMCG, Inside Franchise and Inside Small Business.

We want to boost our titles’ social media presence and we’re looking for a creative, energetic social media coordinator.

You will help us implement our social media strategy across our titles, Inside Retail and Inside FMCG. You could be uploading breaking news stories from our journalists one day, then checking out images of cool new stores from around the world the next, or even helping to produce news videos with the ---------- this role, you will help create content for our social media platforms and work closely with the Managing Editor – Features, as well as undertake tasks assigned by the Head of News for Inside Retail and Inside FMCG.

Who are you?
You are a communications/marketing professional and passionate about building online communities and engaging our readers on social media.

Recent graduates with internship experience are encouraged to apply.

This is what your job will look like:

Develop, schedule and upload content across LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for Inside Retail brands as well as Inside FMCG;

Sourcing inspiring, industry-relevant content for our social media feeds that helps to create a community and encourage two-way communication. This could include producing weekly news videos on Inside FMCG or inspiring Instagram content;

Uploading our news stories online and across our titles’ WordPress platforms;

Helping to produce the weekly careers enewsletters for Inside Retail Australia, Asia and Inside Retail New Zealand and assisting with creating other enewsletters as required, using our existing system;

Identify new social platform features and recommend how to optimise performance using them;.

This is what’s important for the job
Be familiar or comfortable working with a wide range of social media scheduling and reporting tools;
A passion for social media/marketing and the latest trends and tools;
An interest in business news and current affairs, retail, e-commerce, beauty, food and hospitality;
Access to a laptop and smartphone.
