Hi there,
For our Karate School, located in Connecticut, USA we are looking for a highly motivated person to help drive forward our ambitious growth plans throughout 2021 and beyond. You will be an important part of our team who have a hands-on approach and are passionate about taking our Karate School to the next level.
- The Social Media Community Manager is an integral part of our team and knows how to create appealing and relevant content
- There will be a focus on showcasing and communicating our deep commitment to the local Hispanic, Brazilian and American communities
- We are looking for someone who prides themselves on their speed of communication, attention-to-detail, and meticulous planning skills, but can adapt to change in a very fast-moving environment.
- A strong understanding of any kind of self-defense, martial arts or combat sports is a plus, as are exceptional people and communication skills
Other responsibilities may include:
- Responding to comments and customer queries in a timely manner.
- Providing engaging text, image and video content for social media accounts.
- Designing enticing graphical banners for social media posts.
- Communicate news, understand what the community asks and respond to questions.
Required skills and experience:
- Incredibly fast learner: must be willing to learn how to use our social media communications platform
- Research content on the web about LOCAL SOCIAL events, COMBAT SPORTS related news and KARATE TRIVIA for the creation of a truly unique tone of voice that makes the local community feel AT HOME when visiting our Karate school
- Strong interest in self-defense, martial arts or combat sport
- Exceptional communication skills, verbal and written: the goal is to positively engage our local Hispanic, Brazilian and North-American community
- Ability to write in a company’s brand voice.
- Technical ability to TRANSLATE social posts in two languages with the help of Google Translate: From ENGLISH to SPANISH and BRAZILIAN (your posts can be locally reviewed for accuracy)
- Ability to establish brand awareness and recognition.
- Creativity to think outside the box.
- Being punctual and quick to respond and communicate-daily.
- Experience with posting content using WordPress and SEO.
- Strong planning abilities (editorial calendar)
- Incredibly fast learner.
- Proactive, capable to self-organize with minimum supervision
- English at a native level (knowledge of Spanish and/or Brazilian/Portuguese a plus)
