Job Description:

Seeking a script writer for a pilot YouTube series. The series will be voiced in English and centered on ancient history with a focus on specific battles. Two test videos will be created and tested in the market. If met with positive response, more video will follow. Each video must range between 15-30 mins. This listing is intended to scout a talented, and knowledgeable historical writer that can generate well researched, historically accurate scripts that will be read by a native speaking narrator. The two pilot topics will be Alexander’s battle of Tyre and Caesar’s battle of Alesia. The target demographic is males age 30-60.

Must Haves:

1. A strong respect and passion for history. If this quality is lacking, it will show in the script. This is a must.
2. A true mastery of written English as the script will be narrated by a native English speaker. Strong spoken English is not required
3. Skill at proofreading and editing
4. A passion for research with a focus on historical accuracy.
5. This position will required excessive amounts of reading. Must possess a love of reading and be proficient at reading many books efficiently.
6. Skill telling intriguing stories from history that captivate an audience and keep them interested.
7. Flexibility and openness to criticism. The scripts will be reviewed by historians to ensure accuracy.
8. Flexible with changing time zones (must respond to all queries within 1 hour)
9. A functional bank account (BPI, BDO, Metro Bank, etc)
10. Facebook messenger on their phone.

Home Office Requirements:

• Fixed internet connection (Broadband, DSL, Cable, Fiber) of at least 20 MBPS (Not allowed: Prepaid wifi, dongle and mobile data)
• Up to date computer and android/iOS smart phone with the latest specifications
• Functional headset and webcam
• Quiet room to work with no distractions or background noises

Nice to Haves but not required:

• Multiple language proficiency (Latin, Spanish, Arabic, German and French)
• Bachelor’s in history, or English.
• Graphic design experience

Documentary series have exploded in popularity in recent years with viewers enjoying the rich and complicated stories of the past. This is enabling people to be more connected with their humanity. For this reason, it is expected that demand for these series will continue to increase over the coming decade.

Salary:

If hired, the first 2 scripts will be a trial to observe your effectiveness in writing compelling scripts. During the trial period the writer will receive 10000PHP per completed, reviewed, and revised (as needed) script. Once the script is accepted, payment will be released. At the end of the trial period, if the writer has demonstrated competence in the role and the two pilots are met with success, the writer will be asked to stay on long term and a new salary may be ---------- clude with your application:
