Quantity Surveyor / Estimator for Metalwork Trade (Ornamental Steel)

An Australian leading metalwork company requires a Quantity Surveyor with proven experience in trade take offs and estimating.

We have a position available for a qualified Quantity Surveyor to join the management team of a leading Australian metal fabrication company.

The company specialises in detailed metal fabrication on large scale construction sites throughout Australia. The type of work includes:
- Handrails;
- Balustrade;
- Architectural screens;
- Perforated metal products;
- Structural Steel;
- Feature architectural products;
- Steel structures;
- Sunscreens;
- Gates and similar items.

We require a qualified Quantity Surveyor with proven estimating background in construction industry. Experience with architectural metalwork and structural steel would be an advantage.

You should have:
- Minimum of 10 years experience Quantity Surveying role in construction industry;
- Minimum Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering or similar;
- Proven record of providing accurate and detail estimates;
- Ability to provide detailed quantity take-offs for trade work;
- Ability to provide detailed reports for Estimating Manager’s review prior to tender submission.
- Minimum of 3 references from former employers.

You should be able to demonstrate that you deliver on your promises and have a solid track record of continuous employment over the past 10 years.

The position will involve:
- Provide detailed trade take offs from architectural and structural drawings;
- Provide full detailed estimations including labour and materials;
- Provide detailed reports of labour and material required for each job;
- Prepare job budgets after jobs are won;
- Setup job cost codes after jobs are won;
- Computer skills: Microsoft excel, word, outlook and project. BlueBeam Revu.
