JOB OVERVIEW

Seeking a part-time curriculum writer who can write lesson plans and record videos in our lesson plan format for age 5-14 hands-on STEM projects in tech-arts like Scratch Coding, LEGO & Vex robotics, Ozobot, Tinkercad, Minecraft, Roblox rockets and plane building, game design, and other themes. Lessons will be aligned with Common Core State Math and English Standards and Next Generation Science Standards and will feature the Engineering Design process and interactive group work. Video tutorials must be recorded for each lesson.

We pay between $30-$60 per lesson on average, which includes a lesson plan, a Google Slide deck, and a tutorial video. Lessons will be drafted and finalized on a tight deadline. Responsibilities will include editing and improving existing curriculum. Work can be done remotely with regularly scheduled check in meetings in Zoom.

Required Experience/Skills:
~Must possess strong English writing and communication skills
~Passion for creating engaging and mastery-based STEM project lessons
~Excellent research, organizational, communication and writing skills
~Ability to respond positively and efficiently to criticism and creative direction
~Experience as an educator in some capacity
~Experience and confidence in recording videos a plus
~Experience in tech-arts mentioned above. If you don’t have experience in at least two of the following, this role is probably not suited for you:
*Scratch Coding
*Tinkercad & 3D printing
*LEGO & Vex robotics
*Ozobot robotics
*Minecraft
*Roblox
*microcontrollers like Arduino and Raspberry Pi
*rockets and plane building
*board/card game design
*other STEAM themes. Lessons will be aligned with Common Core State Math and English Standards and Next Generation Science Standards, and will feature the Engineering Design process
