Full charge bookkeeper
Simple Homes, a fast-growing Colorado (USA)-based construction technology startup, is seeking a remote Full Charge Bookkeeper to help build our internal accounting function. The role will be primarily responsible for accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements. This position will report directly to Simple Homes CFO with substantial engagement with the company’s CEO.

Primary job responsibilities
+ Manage month-end and year-end closing, including financial statements and other reporting
+ Manage AR/AP
+ Help document and develop scalable accounting processes and internal controls, including leading ERP and other software implementations that help drive process automation
+ Manage payroll including hourly employee timekeeping
+ Assist with job costing and project accounting
+ Manage inventory accounting
+ Maintain accurate capital accounts for our investors
+ File sales, use, and property tax returns
+ Monitor retainages
+ Ensure monthly financial statements are ready for analysis by the 10th of each month
+ Communicate with management, including the CFO and CEO
+ Perform special projects as requested by management and other duties as assigned
Key skills and experience
+ 3-5 years of experience as a full charge bookkeeper or accountant
+ Finance or Accounting degree
+ Experience with QuickBooks Online and ERP systems
+ Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis in Excel required
+ Familiarity with job costing and construction accounting is a major plus
+ Exceptional communication skills including the ability to synthesize findings, present results, and provide instructions clearly and concisely.
