About The Role
This position is to work within the Ecommerce team, and you will impact OFX’s Ecommerce business all around the world. You will work to better understand our end-users, identify growth opportunities, and improve our products and marketing outreach by creating personal and smart experiences. You will be solving challenging business problems, performing statistical analyses, and identifying and solving data quality issues. You will be collaborating with engineering, operation, and product teams to define data requirements and shape strategic direction. To Be Successfully In This Role
• Be a driving force in the development of and structuring of internal and external data sets within the eCommerce vertical.
• Effectively mine structured and unstructured data to gain insight into customer behaviour and what motivates it.
• Leverage machine learning algorithm to solve real-life problems in areas of online seller life cycle, listing optimization, and corridor sales prediction. Working with external data providers to come up merchant reporting by categories and provide insightful guidance to drive seller’s sales growth.
• Interpret data sources that can risk profile customers and their business to help with payment decisions.
• Deep machine learning and classification/clustering in identifying and optimizing opportunity in credit card offering to merchants.
• Drive the collection of new data and the refinement of existing data sources
• Create analysis that tells a story focused on insights, not just data.
What you bring
• Masters or equivalent experience in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or Artificial Intelligence, etc.)
• 2 years + relevant work experience in Data Science with demonstrable impacts
• Experience in predictive modelling, hypothesis testing, both descriptive and inferential statistics
• Proficient with one or more programming languages (C++, Python, R, Java etc.)
• Strong SQL proficiency, data mining, machine learning, time series forecast, and classification and clustering
• Strong analytical skills
• Excellent spoken and written English
