Professional attributes:
Bar passer / degree of Bachelor of Law
Minimum 4-5 years PQE experience in a law firm with at least 2 years in-house experience
Company secretarial experience is preferable
Strong drafting and contract negotiation skills
Good analytical skills and sound legal judgment to support business needs
Fluency in spoken and written English is essential
1. Handle corporate and legal matters such as those pertaining to banking and finance, secretarial, corporate exercises, litigations, HR related matters, intellectual property, insurance or any other related procedures.
2. Provide legal advice and support to the company, Group and top management on all legal matters
3. Drafting, reviewing and negotiating the terms of various agreements such as sales contracts, procurement agreements, distribution agreement, transportation agreement, tenancy agreement, employment contract etc to safeguard the interests of the company and ensure that they are in compliance with internal policies and all applicable laws
4. Manage exposure of the company’s legal risks and enhance the company’s commercial and other interests in accordance with regulatory requirements
5. Liaise and coordinate with external solicitors and other third party advisors on various legal, corporate and/or litigation matters.
6. Keep abreast with regulatory developments and conduct reviews to ensure the company’s compliance with regulatory requirements, for instance those relating to anti-bribery and corruption, anti-money laundering, personal data compliance etc
7. Develop and implement regulatory compliance and risk management policies and processes
8. Provide employee training on regulatory and internal policy compliance and drive a culture of risk and compliance across the business units of the company
9. Support employees to address legal and compliance concerns in the course of their work for the company
