Overview
DevTech is seeking a Hardware Engineer for the Philippines: Bureau of Internal Revenue ICT Modernization Strategy and Data Center opportunity. The ICT Modernization Strategy and Data Center Technical Assistance (TA) will support the Bureau of Internal Revenue (“BIR”) in developing a strategy to modernize its core ICT systems and data center to meet the Philippines’ tax reform and long-term digital transformation goals.

The objective of the TA is to support BIR comprehensive ICT modernization and deployment of an on-site data center. The TA will develop an Enterprise Architecture Roadmap, Computing Infrastructure Strategy, Information Systems Group Organizational Design, and Data Center Design, which will together help BIR to upgrade its existing ICT infrastructure, enhance the capabilities of its IT workforce, and develop an in-house data center to uphold critical and confidential data storage requirements.

Responsibilities
The Hardware Engineer will be responsible for managing and performing cabling tasks as well as design and develop equipment, processes and systems that involve racks of IT equipment, data networks, communications, and display. S/he will provide analysis related to the design, development, and implementation of hardware for products. S/he will also be responsible with keeping the Data Center infrastructure and IT equipment in operating conditions, performing corrective, adaptive, and preventative maintenance tasks as needed and/or scheduled.

Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in Engineering or any related field;
- Must be a self-starter and able to work independently and balance multiple hardware development aspects of a program;
- Experience in computing systems (Processing, Network, Storage, Display technologies);
- Experience with authoring test procedures used by the Engineering team to test Hardware items;
- Familiarity with operating basic software tools to test hardware functionality;
- Experience leading engineering projects;
- Knowledge of computer system design (servers, switches, power, packaging);
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple simultaneous tasks;
- Excellent interpersonal skills; and
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
