Shopify Expert - Custom theme development

Hey everyone, we are looking for a part-time support for developing our Shopify-Store according to our expectations. We run a Store for the new-age Instrument Handpan: www.handpan.store

We currently have some challenges for which we need experienced support. We are looking for someone, who is really deep in the understanding of the platform and also has programming skills. Ideally, we are also looking for someone who is very good at design, because we also have to implement design projects.

Here is an overview of the projects we are currently working on:

Small tasks:

1. Problems with the DNS-Configs: If a visitor goes first time (or with emptied cache) on our page without www. just handpan.world he will see a "forbidden" error. I guess it's a DNS Problem?

2. Logo: We still do not have a Logo for our Project. May you can create some drafts?


Online-Store | Shopify Infrastructure

1. Make availability visible to customers:

We offer all products to order - regardless of whether they are currently in stock or ---------- would be helpful for customers to see right away whether the instruments are in stock or only on pre-order.

We usually have different variants per product, which are available in different ways. When choosing a variant of a Produkt (--> for example like this), it should be clear whether it is directly available and how often or only available on pre-order.

Currently it is only displayed whether a product is available or not, but not which variant. If not all variants are currently in stock, and customer choose a variant that is in stock, it says, that the variant is not available (just in pre-order).

The stock manager should of course be able to say exactly whether the selected variant is in stock or whether it is only possible to pre-order.

Ideally, all variants in stock are listed below the selection tool, if possible.





If in stock, the note should be displayed:

... sofort verfügbar

(... = number of availibility)



Lieferbar innerhalb von 7 Werktagen

(This is German for: Can be delivered within 7 working days)



If not in stock, the note should be displayed:

Auf Vorbestellung. Wartezeit 3-6 Wochen.

(This is German for: Pre-order possible. Waiting time 3-6 weeks.



2. Modifications Filterbar:



--> Currently we have Problems to add new product-tags, that are related to the filter bar - e.g.: Tonfelder_ (number of tone fields 9, 10, 11) or Stimmung_ (name of the scale), ---------- tting up new properties for the filter bar via tags does not work either. For example, we would like to filter our visitors by collection, e.g. Eternal Echoes, Nautilus, etc.

--> Implementing the possibility to filter by prices in the offered range. (with the help of an adjustable price bar)





3. Speed Optimisation: With a speed score (tested by Google speed insights) we have a worse score. Please make all necessary optimisations to make the page speed as high as possible.



4. On Side SEO: Please check, what is still necessary to optimice the search engine rancing



5. Product-Template:

We would like to modifie our product-templates like this:

1) Info-Box more visible (using borders)

2) Emphasize the headings more (bold and slightly larger font)

3) Separate the headings more from each other

4) Shorten the width of the box and position it in the middle so that it fits well into the overall design.

5) Put the upper part (video & picture gallery, as well as the part to the right of it) in the middle and adapt it to the overall design.

6) Adding section "Weitere Handpans aus der Kollektion". In this section all other products of the same collection should be shown here.



6. Buy Button: We would like to use the Shopify ditribution channel "Buy Button" to include our categories (mainly) and products on other pages. Here we have two problems:

-The HTML Code snipped

, which we use in the Product-Title to generate a brake, is shown here as full written text

-The Sample-Videos (which gives the most important impression of our Instruments) are not shown, instead the first picture is shown in the preview.



7. Connect distribution Channels like: We have problems to connect Google Merchant & Facebook. May you also have proposals, which sales channels makes sense as well.



8. Implementing the possibility for Promotion-Video within the collection-template (not for all collection we currently have such a video - here should still stay the picture)



9. Template for new pages: Since we will keep building new pages, it would make sense to have a ready-made template integrated into the theme. Ideally with the functional versatility as the template of the Palo Alto Theme makes it possible for the landing page.



10. Template for local shops / representatives

(If 6. can be implemented, this is not necessary at first)

We operate over 15 Handpan showrooms throughout Germany and Austria (and the trend is rising). We need one Overview page and a profile page for each showroom, which should fulfill the following functions: Include text modules, images & videos, gallery, Google map of the specific location, contact form that leads directly to the mail of our representative, overview of all handpans that directly are available in the showroom.

I have build two templates with the Palo-Alto Start-Page Builder for Inspriation, what we want to show. But you are free to bring it into a nother form and style.

-Profile-Page for each single Showroom (called Template Vertreter Palo Alto // Clean Theme): ----------


11. Blog template: We need to set up a good and clear blog structure to make it as easy as possible for our visitors to find the topics they are looking for and are interested in. We currently have little content, but that will change as soon as we have set up the appropriate blog structure. For this we would like to use your support again. For the current shop, we just need a simple Blog-Template, we can work with easely and we can convey complex topics in a well-structured and easy way to our visitors. I guess herefore it would also make sense to use a Page & Blog Building App.


12. ·AMP-App Configuartions: We have installed the Ampify me App. Is that a good choice in your opinion? We would need support to set it up and inplement it rightly. As you know, the soundsample-videos are our most important tool. Is it possible to have AMP pages with video-integration (linked with Youtube)?



13. SmartSEO: We use the SmartSEO App. We take care of Meta-Tags and Alt-Tags but we would need support with: JSON-LD, Microdata, Structured Data & Side-Maps



14. Connecting Facebook-Merchant & Facebook Pixel: We want to ---------- Facebook as a Sales-Point and for Ads-Campaigns. Thatfore we have to connect it to our Shopify-Infrastructure
