Investment Analyst Internship

Expert DOJO is the most active international early-stage startup accelerator and venture capital firm based in Santa Monica, CA dedicated to supporting founders from all over the world as they scale their companies.

We’re Looking For: candidates who are interested in the Asian early-stage startup and venture capital space to work directly with our venture partner as well as help source deals and evaluate potential investments.

The 2021 Investment Analyst Internship is for University Juniors/ Seniors students, and is a 6-month long program. Upon graduation, successful interns will have the opportunity to continue as full-time Junior Due Diligence Analysts.

The ideal candidate has a professional or cultural interest in Southeast Asia and a passion for finding highly scalable technology startups in the continent as well as is driven to take an active role in building out our ecosystem and investment portfolio.

What You’ll Accomplish: Following a week of extensive and hands-on training, interns will have the opportunity to source potential investment deals and represent Expert DOJO throughout the due diligence process.

During the internship, our interns will get an exclusive opportunity to be trained by our senior investment associates. Admitted interns will learn how to find and analyze deals as well as determine what makes a startup a highly scalable company and an extraordinary investment opportunity.

After the training, our interns will have responsibilities and autonomy akin to that of a full-time due diligence analyst. You will play an integral part in Expert DOJO’s investment process and will have opportunities to interact with our C-level executives and venture partners.

The Intern will work directly with an assigned Investment Associate and will have the following responsibilities:

Find, source, analyze and prioritize a dynamic data set of investment opportunities in our scope of geography and industries.
Coordinate communication and meetings with CEOs of prospective companies.
Manage integrated marketing campaigns across email, website, and social channels targeted to early-stage entrepreneurs.
Identify and catalog content and best practices relevant to prospective portfolio companies.
Contribute to Expert DOJO’s admission process; Accelerator Program, Demo Day and other founder-focused initiatives.
Requirements

College senior or graduate pursuing an Engineering, Finance-related degree, Business, Entrepreneurship, Marketing and PR degrees.
Personal/professional connections with startups or entrepreneurship in your region.
Working knowledge of cap tables, startup financing, and growth metrics.
Strong quantitative, financial analysis, and critical thinking skills.
Passion for technology, innovation and early-stage investments.
Record of professional achievement, work ethic, and positive attitude.
Advanced research and problem-solving skills as well as ability to think strategically, analytically and creatively.
Strong interpersonal and team collaboration skills as well as demonstrated ability to communicate with C-Suite executives, and VC ---------- adline-driven and ability to work independently.
Excellent attention to detail, even when given multiple assignments.
We expect the candidate to be available a minimum of 20 hours per week but we are flexible with the internship ---------- pensation

On-site opportunity.
Upon closing a sourced deal, intern is eligible to receive up to $700 per deal.

The internship is remote.
