The role of the Accounting VA is an important part of the VersaPile Inc. team. The ideal candidate is friendly and helpful to internal and external clients. The candidate must be familiar with bookkeeping, accounting principles, forecasting, and purchase order and work order systems. This role requires the applicant to be comfortable proactively calling out to collect on A/R and make A/P arrangements - The successful candidate will need to work odd hours to be available for half of Winnipeg's regular working hours (Central Standard Time). The Accounting VA will report directly to the Finance Manager.
Responsibilities and Duties
The Finance Assistant will do the following;
Work 10 hrs days in the office M-F (4 of the hours each day should be worked between 8am and 6pm Central Standard Time)
Follow VersaPile Finance procedures
Track and record receipts into appropriate accounts, using Dext and QBO as
Reporting and tracking Accounts Receivable, calling on past-due accounts.
Tracking Accounts Payable, highlighting to the Finance Manager when payment arrangements are necessary
Preparing Financial Reports and performing bank reconciliations
Assisting with Inventory valuation
Gather information and prepare Project Audits for Finance Manager
Are eager to learn and grow
Other duties as assigned by the Finance Manager
Qualifications and Skills; We require that candidates have the following;
5 years experience with bookkeeping
QuickBooks Online experience
Google Sheets or MS Excel experience (advanced level: you can work with pivot tables)
Proficient English communication skills
Business Management certificate or Accounting degree/designation an asset
