Job Description

We are looking for a seasoned full-stack engineer / WordPress Developer responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including creating WordPress themes and plugins. Ability to build out and manage JAM stack applications. Successful candidates will have a minimum of three years recent experience with all the skills listed below.

This position requires a combination of programming skills (namely PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript) and aesthetics (understanding element arrangements on the screen, the color and font choices, and so on). The candidate should have a strong understanding of industry trends and emerging technologies. Experience with the responsive and adaptive design is strongly preferred. Also, an understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development, and deployment is preferred.

Responsibilities
- Designing and implementing new features and functionality
- Establishing and guiding the website’s architecture
- Ensuring high-performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the company
- Helping formulate an effective, responsive design and turning it into a working theme and plugin.
- Design and implementation of the overall web architecture
- “Pixel-perfect” implementation of our approved user interface
- Design and deployment of databases
- Ensuring the entire stack is designed and built for speed and scalability
- Design, Integration, and construction of REST APIs
- Integrating of front-end UI with APIs
- Design and implementation of continuous integration and deployment

Skills
- Writing HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Being up on latest practices is a must, e.g., HTML5, CSS3, and ECMAScript 6 (minimum)
- A relevant back-end programming language PHP, Python, Ruby or JavaScript
- Database design and management, including being up on the latest practices and associated versions
- Server management and deployment for the relevant environment
- Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications
- Experience designing and developing responsive design websites
- Comfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc.
- Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers
- Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages
- Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML)
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools {{such as Git, SVN, and Mercurial}}
- Strong understanding of PHP back-end development
- Knowledge of modern WordPress MVC frameworks
- Familiarity with a relevant and globally supported framework—both front-end and back-end, if necessary Laravel, Vue, or React
- Ideally, familiarity with CSS preprocessors, bundlers, and associated languages/syntaxes/ Sass, Less, Tailwinds and webpack
- Thorough understanding of user experience and possibly even product strategy
- Experience implementing testing platforms and unit tests
- Proficiency with Git
- Appreciation for clean and well documented code
