Overview
In order to launch and promote our fitness app, we will need a substantial library of exercise content available. Typically the types of content we are looking for is created by people who sell their exercise content as part of their personal brand, making it very expensive to purchase.
We want to work with fitness content creators who have not yet monetized their work, and are looking for free exposure.
What we’re looking for & minimum requirements
Full workout routines (not individual short clips of workouts).
High intensity interval training routines (high priority)
Body weight workout routines (High priority)
Yoga sessions (high priority)
Boxing (medium priority)
Stretching (Medium priority)
Dance exercise (medium priority)
Self Defense (krav maga) (lower priority)
A minimum of 10 minutes long per exercise
A range of types of content (not all just one category of exercise).
Good content creators that will upload lots of
Good lighting.
If there is audio, it needs to be loud and clear.
Techniques for getting content
There is no single perfect way for getting content, but here are some ideas:
Instagram
Follow hashtags like #hiitworkout, #yogasession, #bodyweightroutine, and watch some of the posted videos.
For people who have fewer than 5k followers, they may be interested in free distribution. More popular accounts are less likely to give their content away for
“I’ve been following your HIIT workouts, they’re pretty awesome!
I’ve got a question for you: we’re starting a fitness app where people can find any type of workout they’re looking for, challenge their friends, and track their
We’re trying to build our library before launching and I thought some of the workouts you’re doing would be AWESOME to include on the platform. We would include a link from your workouts to anywhere you want to send people
Interested? I can send you some screenshots of the app, or our (partially finished) Instagram ad.
Jill Smith”
Sometimes content creators will have a link to their website, or YouTube page. These are also good places to send them this message, because Instagram will likely pause your account if you send too many messages to people every day.
People you know
Pretty much anyone can do a home workout routine. If they can satisfy all the requirements above, definitely use friends or acquaintances.
YouTube
Similar to Instagram, the more popular a person is, the less likely they will give us free content. I would recommend finding people with a lower number of subscribers/video views.
A lot of times they will include contact
You create videos
If you would like to create videos, we would be happy to pay you to create them. They just need to satisfy the requirements above.
Our app, explained to content creators
SoFit is a free fitness video database and
Whether it be yoga, HIIT, bodyweight exercises, dance, or martial arts, you’ll be able to find the exact exercise you’re looking for, at the exact length you’re looking to work out, with the exact level of intensity you want.
And being a fitness community, users will get to challenge their friends to workout routines that really challenged them. For motivation and accountability, you’ll have your workout progress tracked, along with the challenges you’ve completed.
And lastly, the entire platform is merit-based, meaning the content creators with the best content will get the ratings, sending their content to the top of the filters. This gives the best content creators an opportunity to have tens of thousands of users consuming their content, getting followed, and most importantly, getting links clicked to their website or products of their choice for monetization.
This costs content creators nothing other than the time it takes to upload a video.
