Video Editor

SassClass Dance Studio & Production Company is seeking a freelance Video Editor to edit dance videos.

ABOUT SASSCLASS:
SassClass is a women’s empowerment dance studio and production company based in New York City. We are on a mission to make women feel amazing, and our dance classes and programs are designed to foster self-love & confidence and promote sisterhood & connection. Our signature offering - the Dance Video Program - gives women the chance to star in their own music video, regardless of prior dance experience. Since our inception in 2016, our unique work has gained us praise and recognition in renowned publications including Popsugar, SELF, Refinery29, ELLE, Galore, Byrdie; and we've been featured on NBC, ABC, or Telemundo.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Edit dance videos according to an edit guide provided by the director, utilizing raw footage provided by videography team
- Use best judgment to choose footage for the final cut, keeping in mind the quality of the dancer's performance
Input music, effects, and more.
- Create rough and final cuts based on feedback provided by creative team
- Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running
- Continuously monitor industry trends and best practices to keep video quality and effects ahead-of-the-curve

REQUIREMENTS:
-- Technical: Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects (expert level)
-- Computer/Internet: i7 CPU, 16GB RAM, 4GB GPU, 25Mpbs Internet download/upload speed.
-- Language: English at Fluent or C2 level
-- Personality: Extemely reliable, consistently meets deadlines, responsive in timely manner, passion and enthusiasm for video-editing, committed to delivering highest-quality work, an acute attention to detail, on top of video editing industry trends and best practices

SCOPE, START DATE, AND OTHER DETAILS:
This position is freelance, remote, and for immediate start.
-- Immediate need: We have an immediate need for 18 videos (2 min final edit) to be edited in the next 2 weeks. We would like to start with 1 video to see if it's a good fit ASAP.
-- Long-term potential: We have constant and recurring video editing needs year-round so we hope for this to grow into a long-term working relationship.
