JOB OVERVIEW

The Social Media Manager is responsible for developing, managing, and driving the vision, strategy, and execution of all of SWOP’s social media activities. This role will sit at the intersection of all segments of the business: marketing, comms, sales, account management, developer relations, and product.
The right person for this role will understand that our audience doesn’t just participate in social -- they make decisions based on it. This individual will not only support company initiatives, but will lead many of their own; they will speak authentically to developers and entrepreneurs alike, champion our beloved merchants, and aim to position us as the thought leader in the payments space.
Responsibilities:

• Manage Swop’s overarching social & community strategies, including creating a channel plan with both existing and unexplored channels -- focusing primarily on developers, entrepreneurs, and business managers.
• Build out Swop’s presence on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn; uncover and nurture other relevant social sites with specific emphasis on places where online tech communities exist. Should we be on Vine? Pinterest? You tell us.
• Implement best practices for social listening, uploading, tagging, reporting, and optimization of campaigns.
• Generate and execute innovative social marketing campaigns—partnerships, events, competitions, etc.—and be able to measure the effectiveness.
• Work with the Developer Relations team to meet merchants where they are—at conferences, hackathons or meetups, and in co–working spaces and incubators.
• Act as an extension of our brand by providing concierge-style, targeted customer support; make merchants feel listened to and appreciated; create connections to help merchants get their problems solved—fast.
• Gather feedback from our online community and direct it to relevant teams.
• Liaise with our external media agency to create and monitor engaging paid social campaigns.
• Manage the relationship with Swop’s external social agency, providing guidance for off-hours global support teams and addressing crises as they occur.
• Direct our creative team to produce exciting, eye-catching social graphics.
• Build an international social strategy from the ground up.
• Analyze relevant data and produce bi-weekly reports on recent social activity, providing insights and recommendations as needed to ensure success in the social space. (know Google Analytics)
• Be prepared for the opportunity to help expand the team and spread the SWOP community to other cities worldwide.
Qualifications:
• 4+ years of driving global social media strategy.
• Familiarity with major social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) and developer-centric social sites and WordPress as well as experience executing social best practices on behalf of a large brand.
• You’re self-driven. No one will be telling you how to structure your time, which co-working spaces to hang at, or when to post on Facebook. It’s all up to you and your all-star organization skills.
• Excellent and versatile communication skills. You will not have a problem crafting anything from a 140-character tweet to a 1,400-word blog post, and you can do so in the SWOP voice. You can share technical information in a way that speaks to developers and CEOs alike.
