First line Writer for Cold email

First-line needs to have two things.

1) The first name.

2) A compliment.

The purpose of the compliment is to show that you did research on them. This requires that you ?actually do research on ---------- pecially when sending to CEO’s, founders, or other executives.


Emails should be so personalized that you couldn’t send them to another person.

So how should you personalize the first line, fast?

Go to the person's LinkedIn or website and try to find either a case studies, accomplishments, Recent wins, Background, award or post they made.

If it’s a reward, congratulate them. If it’s a post, find a key point and tell them it’s interesting or cool.

If you can’t find anything on their LinkedIn you go to their website. Find case studies or testimonials and comment on them. If you can’t find anything else compliment their design work or something related to what they do.

Whatever the compliment is, input it into the First Line column in your Google sheet.

Don’t overthink it. Just find something and try it out.

Must be in perfect, grammatical English

Must be so personalised that you couldn’t send it to another person besides that person

Must be genuine & actually researched
You couldn't send it to anybody else besides that person
It's about something specific. Not "love all the work you're doing!"
