Photo Editor

I am looking for a photo editor to help me with some projects. This part time job could easily increase to a steady part-time or even full-time job. (Full-time would be very likely if the candidate can do video editing or act as a virtual assistant, as well. But this absolutely *not* required.)

I am a wedding and event planner/producer, graphic designer, and photographer, based in the NYC area of the United States. While I have many years of photo and video editing experience, I do not especially like doing it and am finding, more and more, that I do not have the time to do it.

While I have many projects (thousands and thousands of photos) that I need edited, – and potentially some video that I also need help editing – I would like to start by hiring someone to edit a collection of about 200 photos that I took, unexpectedly, at an event for a friend. I do not have time to edit them and really need them off my plate as soon as possible.

The Job:

(This one, specific job will act as a trial of sorts.)

Sort through the photos I send and select the best ones. Remove any redundant images (just pick the best of any obvious repeats) and delete any of the blurry/unusable images. Then please edit the best images. I'd love to see some style in your editing, but mostly just general color correction.

These are photos from a wedding I recently attended, so any experience in that world – *light and airy* style/look/feel – would be excellent. (I'm also a fan of *dark and moody*, but that might not be best for this project. However, I would definitely be interested in seeing that style for many of the other projects I have.)

Important reminder: I have many, many more projects like this that need editing, so if this project goes well, I will have much more work for you.

Required Experience:

As long as you have some photo editing work that you have done to show, I do not mind if you did it in school, for yourself, or as a paid professional.

A portfolio or examples of a collection of photos you have edited, whether you took the photos or not, specifically if you have a specific style of editing, would be very helpful and GREATLY appreciated.
Any experience editing images from weddings or events would put you at the top of the candidate list!

A "Best Fit" For This Project Will:

Be able to communicate clearly (email/written English is fine)
Have dedication to meet project deadlines in a timely manner
Write “I would love to edit your photos!” at the top of your proposal
Have strong attention to detail
Have a portfolio of photos you've edited before – ideally in your signature style/s or (a) style/s you could easily replicate again
