Shopify Performance Engineer (Developer)

We are looking for a Shopify Performance Engineer to work closely with our customers to consistently deliver lightning-fast websites securing our business as a market leader in website performance optimization.

This job is for accomplished WordPress developers that are obsessed with speed. You don't need to be a senior developer with 20 years of experience, but you do need to know how to make WordPress websites fast.

This job is for accomplished Shopify developers that are obsessed with speed. You don't need to be a senior developer with 20 years of experience, but you do need to know how to make Shopify websites fast.

That means having deep working knowledge of;
- WordPress performance best practices
- Hosting (managed and self-hosted)
- CDN configuration
- HTML/CSS/JS compression and minification
- Browser caching
- Redirects
- Web asset optimization
- DNS
- Able to remove redundant source code
- Asynchronous asset loading
- Removal of render-blocking elements

At least 4 years experience optimizing Shopify website performance, in addition to more traditional Shopify development requirements including;
- Shopify theme editing & development
- Javascript
- HTML
- CSS
- Git
- You'll be communicating directly with the client, so native-level fluency in English is essential.
- Excellent code practices and written skills.
- Awareness of web performance best-practice, developing for accessibility and SEO.
- Experience with cross-browser and device testing websites.
