Web Developer

The Role:
• To build new and expand on existing web-based projects and provide ongoing support as needed.
• Developing new features for web-applications using PHP, MySQL and WordPress.
• Duplicating and modifying existing software into new websites.
• Fixing bugs and errors as they arise.
• Working on multiple projects in various working environment such as individually or with a team of designers and developers.
• Maintain a professional, positive attitude while indefinitely working from home due to COVID-19.
• Deliver responsive, fast loading websites.
• Attend web meetings and consult with clients on best practices (Design/layout, UI/UX, SEO, structure, and functionality-wise).
• Development, debugging and maintenance of existing and new WordPress web projects.
• Maintaining web industry best practices with respect to data security and high-performance systems. WordPress themes / plugins / widgets / short codes / templates development from scratch using Twig (Timber) and Gutenberg, and similar languages.
• Creating clean, efficient, reusable and valid HTML/CSS.

The Ideal Candidate:
• A minimum of 5 years of hands-on working experience in Web Design and Development.
• 5 years of experience using WordPress and PHP.
• Design agency experience is a very strong asset.
• Strong HTML5, CSS3, PHP, MySQL, jQuery skills.
• Experience with servers/hosting/emails.
• OOP experience considered an asset.
• Knowledge of Twig (Timber) is an asset.
• Understanding of SEO best practices and site implementation.
• "Out-of-the-box" thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• High attention to details is a must.
• Knowledge of Adobe Products Suite.
• Excellent Character/Personality is must; excellent team player
• Related diploma or bachelors degree is an asset but not required.
