Senior/Lead Project Manager

Yellowbird Publishing is seeking a Lead Project Manager for a full-time contract opportunity, working remotely for our company headquartered in Las Vegas, NV. The Project Manager will launch, manage and execute company-driven projects. The candidate will also be responsible for managing and recruiting new project team members that would be a fit for the Yellowbird team structure.

We are looking for a seasoned Lead Project Manager to manage company projects to ensure the day-to-day projects run smoothly and are executed by the deadlines. A large number of the projects will involve managing the development team, so experience managing and driving web development projects is required.

Strong communication skills is also required, and an understanding of the communication challenges associated with the remote working environment, with attention to knowing how to overcome those challenges and communicate effectively.

The Lead Project Manager's primary responsibilities will be:

1. Convert submitted project specifications into milestones and tasks (with deadlines) and assign tasks/milestones to design/development team (via project management platform).

2. Communicate daily with team members to keep them engaged and motivated with little downtime.

3. Manage, schedule and follow up with projects to ensure they are delivered on time and according to specifications

4. Coordinate closely with teams to discuss challenges and come up with solutions internally, with minimal supervision.

5. Communicate (via Skype/hipchat) weekly whether via chat, phone or video, with General Manager and/or CEO on progress/deliverables.

6. Hire new team members to assist with projects and complete new contractor onboarding procedures.

7. Look for opportunities for improvement and be a self-starter.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum 3+ years project management experience, managing a minimum of 3-5 people.
- Experience managing the hiring process of new recruits
- Experience using project management software
- Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint
- Experience managing all aspects of the website development process (design all the way to web pages on the internet)
- Understand technical aspects of internet and websites (HTML, hosting, ftp, DNS)
- Good at multi-tasking and have the ability to manage multiple projects at once
- Pro-active and flexible. In this environment, projects change rapidly. We need someone who can move and adjust with these changes quickly.
