WordPress Developer (Part-time)

POSITION: WORDPRESS DEVELOPER
We are seeking for a WordPress Developer responsible for both back-end and front-end development. This position requires a combination of programming skills (namely PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript) and aesthetics. The successful candidate should have a strong understanding of industry trends and content management systems. Experience with the responsive and adaptive design is preferred. Also, an understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development, and deployment is strongly preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintaining existing WordPress-based websites
- Adding features/capabilities to existing WordPress-based websites
- Creating new WordPress-based websites
- Designing and building the website front-end.
- Creating the website architecture.
- Designing and managing the website back-end including database and server integration.
- Conducting website performance tests.
- Troubleshooting content issues.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery
- Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications
- Experience designing and developing responsive design websites
- Comfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc.
- Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers
- Ability to convert layout and wireframes into working HTML pages
- Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML)
- Strong understanding of PHP back-end development

DETAILS:
- Status: Part-time (5-10 hrs per month); with possibility of working on larger projects from time to time
