Are you great at programming and creating ecommerce-sites?

I am looking to have an Magento Ecommerce website created for selling books in Sweden. At the moment I am only looking to have a rough website without focusing too much on the design, but more on creating a great foundation to build further on as there will be some more advanced features on the site and the design will be handled later. Look at www.thriftbooks.com for some inspiration of what the end result might be, but just with less books.

It will be an ecommerce where the customers can become free members, bookmark the books they want to purchase some day, collect points for each sale that is made that later on can be translated into a purchase and much more.

There is two possibilities as I see it: Either working with Magento or creating a CMS from scratch, and it all depends on how far the website can go with Magento.
