Full-Time Webmaster (PHP, Google WMT, On-Page SEO, WordPress)

Job Description:

The webmaster will be responsible for managing the technical aspects of our company’s two main domains:
1) www.vancouvervisas.com (Services Business)
2) www.matthewiwama.com (Content Marketing / Blog Site)

The webmaster is responsible for performing the following tasks:

- Managing all server-side related issues, including hosting issues, FTP and Cpanel, CDN through CloudFlare
- Updating content and making adjustments to www.vancouvervisas.com (Native PHP) – changing images, changing copy
- Optimizing webpage loading speed
- Managing Google Webmaster Tools: ensuring that all page information is correctly formatted according to Google’s requirements: titles, descriptions, alt image tags, sitemaps, etc.
- Creating and Managing Rich Snippets (Structured Data)
- Managing Google Analytics and ensuring that tracking codes are correctly installed on each site
- Proactively ensuring that sites are properly indexed with Google and are not in violation of any updated policies
- Updating content and making adjustments to www.matthewiwama.com (Wordpress)
- Updating and Optimizing Plugins
- Ensuring on-page SEO is being correctly updated
- Ensuring on-site images are optimized correctly
- Resolving any Wordpress-related issues
- Resolving CSS issues as necessary
- Maintaining security of site, including the assessment of security threats
- Optimizing speed
- Optimizing image size, captions, alt text, names, etc.
- Making frequent site backups
- Producing frequent traffic reports based on analytics data and making pro-active suggestions for improvement
- Creating and managing 301 re-directs as necessary
- Installing HTML5 and Wordpress Themes on other parked domains as necessary
- Other duties and tasks as necessary

Requirements:

- At least 3 years of Webmaster experience, preferably with a strong background in programming PHP, CSS, HTML5 and Javascript
- Strong knowledge of Wordpress CMS
- Strong knowledge of Google Webmaster Tools and Google Analytics
- Experience in the generation and management of Structured Data (Rich Snippets)
- Familiarity with CloudFlare CDN and CPanel
- Strong on-page SEO knowledge and current best practices, including image optimization
- Ability to optimize page speed

Communication:
- Must be able to effectively communicate in English in both written and spoken form
- Must be willing to use Trello, Dropbox and Skype for Project Management
- Must be willing to work during Pacific Standard Time (Vancouver, Canada) as needed

Terms of Employment
- Full-Time, Permanent Position
- Monthly Salary, Minimum of 40 hours per week
