Senior Developer

Effective immediately, Karta Ventures is seeking an experienced senior full stack developer. As our in-house senior developer, you will work closely with our investment, marketing, and operations teams to streamline business functions and enhance eCommerce site functionality for Karta’s portfolio of eCommerce focused direct to consumer businesses (DNVBs).

Responsibilities:
Launch, manage & scale our in-house development team as our portfolio of digitally native vertical brands grow.
Execute on improving eCommerce site functionality, following best practices around CRO.
Help automate business processes and systems across manufacturing & warehousing operations.
Responsibilities will be across all stages of the project lifecycle including design recommendations, development, testing, and deployment.
Provide management with reports and analysis as Upgrade to see actual infodependently analyze eCommerce data & work with management to implement findings across our portfolio.
Improve & automate core business functions & processes across operations, marketing & more.
Work with our investment team to assess potential investments, identify risk factors, and build out strategic roadmaps pre-investment.
Implement strategies outlined and developed alongside Karta Ventures operating team, board & C-level executives at our respective portfolio companies.


Requirements:
Highly self-motivated, able to learn quickly, and comfortable working 70+ hours a week consistently in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
Full stack development experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Ajax, jQuery, Ruby, Liquid and SOAP API, XML-RPC/JSON-RPC Upgrade to see actual infomonstrated previous history working extensively with Shopify is mandatory.
Strong understanding and familiarity with best practices around search engine optimization and conversion optimization.
Experience managing/hiring overseas developers on a freelance & full-time basis.
Ability to work with eCommerce data and extract meaningful insights using Google Sheets, Excel, and similar tools.
Experience working with cloud-based databases like BigQuery.
Fully fluent in conversion rate optimization. Able to independently find optimization opportunities & exploit them without extensive hand-holding.
