The IT System Administrator is responsible for managing computer software systems and network connections to ensure high levels of availability and security of the supported business applications. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links.
The IT System Administrator will also analyze and resolve end user hardware and software computer problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training where required and ensuring quality support is provided to internal staff and external customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assists in the planning, design, documentation, and implementation of various systems to include desktop PC’s, servers, network equipment, mobile devices, backup systems, security and anti-virus protection, software applications
• Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
• Administers networks, systems and servers related to the LAN and WAN (e.g. e-mail system, wireless systems, networks, accounts, print queues, workstation ID, IP assignments, company computers, telephone system, SQL databases, LAN, fiber optics including fiber network, PBX phone switching, voice mail systems) for the purpose of ensuring the accurate and efficient deployment of technology services and support for internal and external companies when required
• Overseeing file management on centralized resource (i.e. File Servers, Virtualization Server, Terminal Service Plus and Application Server) or on individual workstations
REQUIREMENTS:
• A relevant tertiary qualification combined with equivalent training and experience
• Certifications in Microsoft, VMware, Cisco and/or Citrix technologies highly desirable
• Proven experience in Windows Microsoft Windows administration experience (Windows Server 2008/2012)
• Experience with database systems, especially Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008 R2
• Experience with ERP systems, CRM and SharePoint Foundation 2013
