JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for a talented Video Editor to assemble recorded footage into a finished project that matches the director’s vision and is suitable for Youtube. This will begin as freelance/part-time and quickly move into a full-time position.

Ultimately, as a Film and Video Editor, you should be able to bring sight and sound together in order to tell a cohesive story. This position will eventually grow into a team leader position as we bring on more editors.

Responsibilities

Manipulate and edit film pieces in a way that is invisible to the audience.
Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the ---------- put music, dialogues, graphics and effects to create a pattern interruptive/engaging video.
Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running.
Consult with stakeholders from production to post-production process.
Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry’s best practices to maximize efficiency.
Eventually Repurpose video content for various platforms and their aspect ratios (I.e IGTV, FB, Youtube) - These would be called "video memes" w/ the captions, etc (See Gary Vaynerchuck, Ed Mylett, Jordan Belfort for examples of this).

Requirements

Proven work experience as a Video Editor.
Good knowledge of Youtubes Algorithm (SEO, Keyword Ranking, Description, tags for example).
Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g. Avid Media Composer, Lightworks, Premiere, After Effects, and Final Cut).
Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio.
Creative mind and storytelling skills.
Ability to perform duties independently or on a post-production team
Graphic design skills
Attention to detail
Time management skills
Organizational Skills
