Wise Pelican is based out of Arizona in the USA and has a great track record of being a great group of people to work with. We’re fun, energetic, and are growing rapidly. Our team consists of members on 4 different continents.

We are in need of an individual to focus full-time on supervising our data mining efforts.

We have multiple different robotic process automation and other web scraping solutions in place. We also utilize the Amazon Mechanical Turk to augment our automated efforts with humans where necessary.

The Data Mining Supervisor will work to understand all of the various data we are scraping, ensure its accuracy, manage the various databases, and provide requirements to developers as necessary.

You should be someone that is constantly striving to improved data and processes.

You should be able to understand business requirements and translate that into technical requirements and be willing to swim through the data to ensure accuracy and relevance.

You should also be able to understand how various systems integrate together and store data inside of databases as a lot of the data scraping involves the use of multiple different platforms.

You’ll also bring new ideas to the team on how we can more effectively and efficiently mine data and will bring your ideas to fruition either through your own implementation, through the use of our internal development resources, or by acquiring the talent necessary to execute on your ideas.

Early on you will be required to have significant overlap with Mountain Standard Time but this can become more lenient as the role progresses.

This is a full-time position for a company in The United States.

Requirements:
• Past experience mining / scraping data
• Understanding of database
• Understanding of robotic process automation
• Understanding of web scraping tools
• Understanding of how various applications can work together
• Ability to learn new software / systems rapidly
• Fluent English

Python experience is a plus.
