Hiring two candidates - Looking for long term employees.

I am looking for one or two Technical Resource to act as a WebMaster and Developer. The successful applicant should have WordPress, HTML, CSS and intermediate general computer skills as a foundation. You will be helping me 1) perform day to day SEO maintenance tasks and 2) build new websites and 3) maintain them with health checks and 4) publish new content to the sites and edit them so that they look good. The types of websites that you will build will be basic WordPress or HTML sites. This job will mostly be configuration in nature. This is NOT a web designer job, or a web developer job. You just need to know enough to make a website look reasonably good.

The following is required:
• REQUIRED: Knowledge how to use WordPress
• REQUIRED: Know how to install themes and plugins
• REQUIRED: Enough PHP to make slight configuration changes to themes and plugins
• Know how to configure name servers
• REQUIRED: Know how to create new WordPress installations using CPanel
• Knows about FTP, how to login and load HTML files
• Knows how to backup WordPress sites
• Intermediate CSS and HTML
• Basic SEO knoweldge
• Javascript, JQuery and basic PHP an advantage
• Logical and Reliable
• Likes and is comfortable with computers
• I wont be asking you to write blog posts but you need to be able to communicate well with email (if you can write then that’s a big plus!)
• I am looking for a person who will eventually be interested in becoming a Full Time 40 hours and work with me for at least 2 years
• Confidence that you can learn new SEO tools
• Know how to use Microsoft Excel
• Knows how to follow instructions
• Can act autonomously and without supervision
For the skills you don’t have, training will be provided.

A normal day will look as follows:

• Check in and review my emails and review daily goals and task lists
• Login and check FightBackNetwork network
• Login and check RankWyz Networks
• Generate Content and Feed above systems using tools
• Login and check Personal Blog Networks
• Post new content to Personal Blog Networks
• Start Website Building Project
• Connect domains to name servers
• Setup Web Hosting
• Install Wordpress, Themes and Plugins
• Use CSS and HTML to customize the website to make it aesthetically pleasing
• Take articles in Word Documents and publish them onto the Word Press sites, finding appropriate images and youtube videos.
• Format blog posts on WordPress
• Install plugins
• Add tracking codes to websites
• Make changes to websites
• Be in charge of backing up websites and make sure they can be recovered
• Basic administrative tasks to keep track of the changes above
• Learning new systems, training
• Daily catchup with me
• Weekly Catchup with me
• Updating your Work Log
• Check out and send daily report to me on your daily deliverables

As you can see there are quite a few skills that you need to be successful.

There will be a 2 day “Interview Trial” period. If you are successful in the trial period I’ll offer you a probation period, then then a permanent part time position.

Terms

If you are full time you must not be employed at any time with another employer. Zero tolerance, your contract will be terminated. You will be asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement. You must be available at all times with Skype. Give me 4 weeks notice if you intend to terminate the contract. In the event of a natural disaster or accident, tell me by email or SMS telephone asap. I need to know where you are at all times. Non reliable staff will be terminated.

Requirements to apply

• A reliable high speed internet connection

• A backup workplace like an internet café

Applying for the Job

There will be two tests that you need to pass to be offered a trial. The first test you need to pass in order to take the second test. At the second test you will be offered a “probation 3 week period”. All tests will be technical to test your WordPress, CSS, and Computer Ability. You need to pass both tests to be offered a trial position.

TEST 1
1. Write a 200 word cover letter telling me why you are suitable based on the information above
2. Write 200 words telling me about you and who you are, how old are you, hobbies, etc
3. Demonstrate three times where you were very reliable
4. Answer: Where have you worked before?
For how long have you worked for? Who else have you worked with
5. Code a HTML file that renders the below screenshot. Make sure that you use no inline CSS and all CSS is contained within a referenced external CSS file.

6. Add a inline Javascript alert that pops up and says “Hello World”
7. Attach both files to the email.
8. Do this internet speed test http://www.speedtest.net/ and send me a screenshot of results
9. Tell me about your computer home setup. Things like internet speed, headset, and anything else you feel is important to be successful
10. Where in Philippines do you live? What City? In the rural area or main city?
11. Write spintax which can output these three variants of sentences:
I like dogs
I like cats
I like cookies
12. Add anything else that will help your application. E.g. portfolio, resume, blog

TEST2

So you finished Test1? Email it to me. As a hint for Test 2 you will be tested on your CPanel, WordPress Setup and Configuration, tested on installing plugins and editing file with ftp and making a blog post look good. When you finish that you will be required to do a short Skype chat via headset. On success you will be offered a position. Above I said to make the subject line “Job Application for Willa”. In your application change it to “Hey you would be crazy not to hire me because…”

About me:

We will be building Niche sites and focusing on lead generation. We will be using a mixture of Black and Greyhat SEO as well as focusing on Conversion Rate Optimization, Analytics and Direct Response Web Design.
