Software Technical Writer

Job Summary:

The primary responsibility of a Software Technical Writer is to produce online and written material for Open iT software products. His or her main role is to turn complex coding and features into easy-to-understand descriptions or instructions for the software buyer.
Specific Responsibilities •Analyze design document and product to develop software documentation.
•Develop, update and maintain manuals, guides and other technical documentation which align with industry standards for formatting and ease-of-use.

Required Qualifications:
•Bachelor degree related to technical writing or information technology discipline
•Strong knowledge in technical writing
•Strong writing, editing and design skills
•High technical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn technology
•Confidence in using software tools such as word processors, layout software and multimedia editing tools
•Excellent organizational skills
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience in XML and web development both in Unix and Windows
•Understanding of typical Agile tools, Subversion, Git or Jenkins
•Experience in writing manuals for user of software products
•Writing ability to translate complex concepts into understandable and simple words
•Ability to work well in a collaborative environment
•Positive attitude
