The Editorial Team at Hawk Group Media has an immediate opening for a talented editor for their site Makeup Tutorials. Individuals with a strong eye for detail and an ear for making makeup tips, tutorials, and products enticing and compelling are encouraged to apply. We’re looking for a candidate with strong writing skills and a keen eye for detail.

We need someone who can provide clear instruction about how to do different makeup looks, create content based around anti-aging tips, and can write about the latest trends in makeup. Someone with a Journalism or English BA. Recent graduate preferred. Experience in online marketing also preferred. We’re looking for a candidate with Adobe software experience who does not need instructions on how to use these programs.

Since our editorial process focuses heavily on SEO, we prefer someone with experience using SEO programs to help with blog content. We’re looking for a knowledgeable and enthusiastic candidate with an extremely dedicated work ethic and the drive to build successful brand identity.
Basic Qualifications
• 2 years editorial or writing experience
• Must be fluent in English
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Self-motivated – if you have to be told what to do every day, do not apply.
• Familiarity with Word Press.
• Able to take criticism.
• Ability to make posts beautifully aesthetic, informational, and interesting through appropriate images
Preferred Qualifications
• Degree in Writing, Communications or English
• Experience in similar high-volume editorial role
• Tirelessly high standards and attention to detail
• A history of positive teamwork
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent business judgment
• Ability to balance multiple projects and consistently deliver results despite competing priorities and distractions

As a test project, please write a 500-700 word post detailing how to conceal age spots and dark spots. Be sure to SEO optimize it, and include photos all sized to 625 width and the correct ratio height and credited appropriately to their corresponding sources (or take your own photos if you’re feeling inspired).  You can get clever with it but be sure the content is informational and written for SEO.
