JOB OVERVIEW
We are a fast growing Electrical Company currently looking for an Accountant to join our friendly team. We are Tech-backed Electrical Company based in Auckland. Our company is focused on providing outstanding service for our clients. This is a full time and a variety filled role so the ideal candidate will need to have excellent attention to details, fast learning ability and be task oriented.
An example of the responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Monitoring and analysing accounting data and produce financial reports or
statements
• Establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies and principles
• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including:
o month and end-year process
o accounts payable/receivable
o general ledger
o payroll and utilities
o treasury, budgeting
o cash forecasting
o revenue and expenditure variance analysis
o capital assets reconciliations
o trust account statement reconciliations,
o fixed asset activity
o debt activity
o Managing staff and their date to date tasks
o Monitoring staff performance
o Problem solving
o Adhere Deadlines
• Examining bank statements and reconciling them with general ledger entries
• Keeping an eye on incoming payments from accounts receivable and outgoing
payments from accounts payable
• Analysing data collected in order to determine the state of the company’s financial
health
• Analysing data to understand where the company is generating and losing revenue
• Examining the proficiency of the software programs used to organise data
• Generating financial reports that display the company’s profits, equity and cash flow
• Provide recommendations
• Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
• Assign projects and direct staff ensure compliance and accuracy
• Meet financial accounting objectives
• Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analysing
account information.
• Recommends financial actions by analysing accounting options.
• Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance
sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
• Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
• Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and
procedures.
• Guides accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.
• Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information.
• Secures financial information by completing data base backups.
• Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
• Complies with local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new
legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on
needed actions.
• Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing account
information and trends.
• Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial
information confidential.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
