JOB OVERVIEW

Jumpcut is looking for a lead Research Assistant/Community Manager! This role will be super fulfilling for anyone who enjoys doing research and talking to a community.

A bit about us: Jumpcut is a rapidly growing online education startup that creates captivating courses, which ties into our bigger vision of helping all aspiring digital entrepreneurs achieve their dreams.

We've launched a new site, creatives.club, that is for student filmmakers around the world. Why is there a Linkedin for professionals, but no similar social network for creatives? We want creatives.club to be that social network that creative people meet each other on. We are starting by recruiting film students around the world to be our first members.

What you'll do: you'll be the lead research assistant/community manager for this new site.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

To get users for our new site, we're manually finding student film festivals around the world and emailing winners of those film festivals to create an account with us. After we get 100 of them on board, we'll start holding virtual events for them and making connections between people. You'll be spearheading this process with Jumpcut's COO.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Researching student film festivals and compiling a list of them
• "Stalking" people on Linkedin and finding email addresses (of film school students)
• Responding to community inquiries about the site

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

• Someone with perfect fluency in English. This is one of the most important things: you MUST be able to speak AND write like a native speaker (perfect grammar, natural / native english proficiency)
• Someone who is good-hearted, motivated, and smart -- i.e. people like working with you
• Someone with a growth mindset, who is open to adapting to different situations / people / projects
• Someone who is a strong problem solver / who is willing to take initiative in finding solutions
• Someone who can maintain a positive attitude with every student they interact with, someone who can motivate / inspire
• Someone who has stable internet, a working camera/microphone, and a quiet working environment (super important)

ADDITIONALLY, YOU MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT IF...

• You’ve had previous research or customer service experience
• You’re interested in entrepreneurship in any capacity
• You like working with a team and feel fulfilled when you help people grow / guide them

Truthfully, we want somebody to fill this role long term, and to be a permanent part of our team (and even have your picture up on the site, ---------- /about). If you'd like to be a part of this fast-growing company, then don’t hesitate to apply :)

BENEFITS, PERKS AND COMPENSATION:

COMPENSATION
• 680 USD/month i.e. ~35,620 PHP/month, for 160 hours of work
• We have raise evaluations every 6 months and are very supportive of our employees’ career growth in general (i.e. we’re open to you applying to other Jumpcut departments if you’re interested)

PERKS
• Full time, work from home job -- no long, draining commute!
• Flexible scheduling / we don’t count days off (as long as it’s within reason)
• If you make it out of the probationary period (maximum: 6 months), you’ll get added benefits:
- 2 weeks paid vacation
- All major Philippine holidays paid for
- 100% paid for health care, through Maxicare
- SSS and PhilHealth reimbursement
- Amazing, caring team / company culture (Check out our employee reviews here: ---------- /JumpcutGlassdoor

In the email, there are 2 things you need to include:

1. Write just 2 sentences about why you want to work for us.
2. Find a student film festival page online with past winners from last year on it, similar to this: ---------- and send me a link to that page.

The application process consists of two rounds. If you email in, we'll tell you if you make it past the first ---------- the 2nd round, we'll ask you to compile some film festivals and student Linkedin/email accounts in a spreadsheet. The last round will be a quick Zoom audio call with Peter, the COO. You will get paid for your time for the 2nd round project.

Good luck!
