Football (Soccer) News Writer

We are an online company based in the United Kingdom and specialise in football content.

We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable and talented copywriters to join our team as football content writers. If you love football, are knowledgeable about the game and are an excellent copywriter, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week over a five-day week.


Required Skills - What we're looking for

- A hardworking, reliable and honest individual who is a quick learner.
- An excellent standard of written English. A degree in this area would be an advantage. We use British English and you must be able to adapt your style if required.
- Excellent writing and rewriting skills. Able to rewrite news stories from approved sources to present them in a fresh and original manner, as well as writing copy from scratch.
- Experience of covering press conferences and conducting interviews would be an advantage.
- An interest in and knowledge of European/English football and willingness to keep up to date with it.
- Knowledge of MS Word.
- Knowledge of WordPress and basic html skills would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of SEO and its requirements for content/headline writing would be an advantage.


We'll also need you to have:

- A modern computer with a reliable internet connection, preferably with an electricity backup if your area is prone to power outages, as this position will be home based.
- Ability to communicate throughout working hours via Skype.
- A willingness to work hours to suit UK/European time zone.
