VIDEO EDITOR

We are looking for a creative Video Editor to join our team! As a Video Editor at our company, you will be responsible for editing videos for internal and external purposes.

As videos have become the best way for communicating the company's messages on online platforms, your position will play an important role in our company's success.

Familiarity with DaVinci Resolve is a must, as this will be the required editing workspace for all videos.
All the video files will be provided. All that will be required from you, is to edit the video in a vlog-style. This means using jump cuts to minimize gaps between talking, to create a better flow. Each edit should end up being around 2-6 minute videos (if the final edits need to be split into multiple parts to accomplish the required episode length, then that’s also fine). If the videos need to be split into multiple parts, then each video needs to be split based on talking topics. For example, if the video is an interview with a Rum brand representative (which is usually long), then the length should be split into parts covering the brand's history, then tasting, and then cocktail making if the brand rep decides to make one.

Besides splitting the episodes into multiple parts, any bits that may "drag on" or even seem to not be that relevant to the episode should also be cut out. Imagine that you are the audience watching the video; if you feel like you're starting to get a bit bored with the overly technical terminology, or the episode is dragging on, then cut those parts out. Some personable stuff like they're own story should still be left in, but still cut down to save time. I’ll provide all this information for each video we send through, especially so hopefully that helps. We'll also try to mention parts that should be taken out, or that should definitely be left in.

Finally, for the hiring process, if we like your stuff, you'll be required to do a test edit for us (link will be provided if selected for the next round. The final applicant chosen for the role will be based on the quality of the edit, and understanding of the tasks.
