Vitaeque is seeking the employment of a Web & Server Administrator who is responsible for the development and timely delivery of web products created by Vitaeque. Responsibilities would also include database and server administration. Using a combination of programming, creative skills and technical knowledge of how web products are created, the work involves an array of skill sets (below).
Main Job Responsibilities
Monitor servers for uptime/downtime
Assists Technical Director in all web and server tasks
Discusses research results with creative executives and helps creative team strategize to implement key findings. Also, to implement ways to make serving and displaying creative over the web faster and more effective
Maintain project deadlines and assist in development when needed
Performs other related duties as assigned
Creating multiple Cpanels for numerous new domains
Managing DNS
Keeping an update of domain and SSL expirations
Making sure emails are working properly
Security enhancement (latest firewall installed and port-scan detector)
Fixing server software quickly in case of malfunction
Daily server optimization for better performance with weekly reports on suggestions/findings
Daily comprehensive logs monitoring
Performing routine server backups
Job Requirements
Fluent in English
Be available to work on PST - Pacific Time Zone
Pursuing a degree in a related field.
Ability to fix any web hosting issues including: server setup, security updates, creating backup scripts, install SSL & CSR, optimize server, fix server load, install third-party services, optimizing Apache and MySQL, restore domain form backup
Must be familiar with Yii Framework
Knowledge of installation, configuration and maintenance of Databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, IBM DB/2 on Linux.
Must have strong troubleshooting skills
Knowledgeable in email encryption (PGP, S/MIME)
Must be effective in prioritizing tasks and responsibilities.
Strong familiarity with, and interest in, website development, mobile development and server administration.
Must have knowledge of computer software with working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, PHP, MySQL, Javascript, jQuery, Git.
Ability to apply user interfaces and interactive design best practices to projects
Test and maintain websites on multiple devices, operating systems, and web browsers
Must have server administration knowledge and be an expert with cPanel, WHM and Apache
Continually uphold all company values and standards
Job Recommendations
Experience with CodeIgniter or other MVC framework is desired
Experience with WordPress is desired
Experience with Pingdom is desired
Experience with Nagios is desired
Experience with PostBox is desired, but not required
Knowledge of Cross Platform Native App Development (Xamarin) would be beneficial, but is not required
Knowledge of Java and/or Objective C for true Native App Development would be beneficial, but is not required
Being familiar with Asana would be beneficial, but is not required.
