Great Opportunity For Full Stack Developer

JOB OVERVIEW/PURPOSE: A creative full stack developer is someone who is adept at both creative and technical work.

Technical - the creative full stack developer is a key team player in the research, maintenance, development and deployment of various applications across different platforms and technologies (WordPress, Shopify, Amazon etc.) he/she must be self-reliant, resourceful and a keen problem solver who innovatively uses technology to solve business problems or meet business goals.

Creative - the creative full stack developer can competently use various creative tools like vector graphics and photo editing to deliver unique, engaging web applications and experiences which include graphical assets for use across different platforms (online store, Amazon listing, social media or other web applications). The creative full stack developer must also be willing to learn and work on the occasional print-related project still using the abovesaid tools.

Accountability: adherence to quality,performance, and timely completion of deliverables.

Scope: Reports to the Head of Platforms and is a key team player that provides support and assistance to plan, develop and deliver various business needs and goals whether these be a website, a template, an application, a report, creative deliverable or a process.


Full Stack Web Development (LAMP)

Must have Good grasp of the WordPress core and codex
Knowledge of wordpress theme frameworks or page building plugins
Ability to troubleshoot wordpress performance issues and tweak website performance
Has sufficient working knowledge of ensuring a wordpress site is adequately secured using plugins and other best ---------- n work on integrating other tools and services with wordpress (i.e shopping carts like snipcart)
Good knowledge of good basic SEO practices
Can do cross-platform testing is a definite plus (has MacOS, Windows & iOS devices)
Solid grasp of Web Hosting, Domain Name, WHM/Cpanel, Cloudflare, Email and other Website Administrative tools and concepts
Can write custom PHP or JS scripts ADHOC depending on the required functionality
Familiar with MySQL database for wordpress maintenance and comfortable with learning how to import flatfiles into a MySQL database

Other Platforms and Technologies
Maintain and customize our Shopify Store as needed including customizing the template and modify using ---------- n flexibly work on other new/unfamiliar platforms to support the business (i.e. developing a working template for an unfamiliar e-commerce platform using common technologies like HTML/CSS/JS/PHP).
Self-motivated, willing to explore and comfortable with developing technical skills that are Amazon Seller related like Amazon MWS
Willing to learn and be familiar with the various Amazon related tools that the business uses (Cashcow pro, Sellerboard, Helium 10) and explore areas (i.e. APIs / integrations) that we can tap into these tools programmatically
Willing to learn the other applications used by the business to support operations like brewery management, logistics and inventory management systems and also seek areas where we can optimize their use and/or customize them.
Knowledge of payment gateways - stripe/worldpay/paypal and familiar with their integration with our platforms

Creative & Marketing
Good Design Skills with Raster and Vector Graphics tools (Photoshop/Adobe Illustrator/Inkscape or Affinity Designer/Affinity Photo)
Can quickly translate static designs into working HTML pages and/or PHP templates
Can perform front-end customization (XHTML, CSS, JavaScript) when necessary
Willingness to work with Marketing/Amazon Manager to create digital assets for our various platforms (website, Amazon listing etc)

Reporting/Analytics/Automation
Work with the Amazon Manager and management in pulling out various reports adhoc – willing to explore and learn the ropes of where certain reports can be retrieved
Familiar with Google Analytics and ensure that all pages deployed utilize it
Willing to load Amazon reports into MySQL database for future improvements to reporting and customized reports

Compliance
Familiarity with GDPR and other standards - ensure that our IT/software development practices, internal applications including any technical recommendations we make are in compliance of GDPR as well as an awareness of other industry relevant standards like PCI/DSS

Planning & Operations
Will work with the platform head in the research, planning and future implementation of foundational processes that can be used to improve our software development practices including but not limited to: establishing proper standards for documentation, version control and some level of software quality ---------- and & Values

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
Solid HTML/CSS coding skills
Solid PHP/Javascript coding skills
Working Knowledge of MySQL
Solid Raster and Vector Editing Tool Skills (Willing to shift Affinity Designer, Affinity Photo)
Solid Wordpress Development Skills (codex, theme frameworks)
Cpanel Website Hosting Management
Shopify Dev Skills (or at least must be highly willing to learn and study liquid)
DESIRABLE SKILLS:
Zapier and other Automation Tools
Various smaller single-purpose SaaS systems
Linux command line / Ability to setup local development environment
Amazon MWS
GIT (setup and use)
