Director of Logistics

We are a 7-year-old e-commerce company based in San Juan Puerto Rico. We manufacture, import and sell a wide range of products on ---------- . The products are sold under multiple brands and range from clothing, soft accessories, healthcare products, and emergency supplies. The business is managed by the founder and a US based Marketplace Director and supported by an awesome team in the Philippines. You would work with the founder and interact with the Marketplace Director, 10+ factories in China, our freight forwarder and our US third party warehouses.

Remote Work
The position is full-time, remote and can be completed on any time zone. Occasional travel to Puerto Rico is ---------- pensation
$2,000-$3,000 per month

Responsibilities
As our company continues to grow and the Amazon policies evolve, our logistics systems and processes need to ---------- 2019 we shipped approximately 40 containers of goods to the USA, we anticipate a 25% growth this year. We are increasingly utilizing additional third-party warehouses and the flow will move to… Goods go from China -> US 3PL -> Amazon warehouse.

This would involve lots of spreadsheets, some demand planning, and a lot of organization. Our company has more than 500 SKUs. So, organization and spreadsheet skills are a must.

The position would involve three main functions:
1) Shipping goods from China to the US - Follow the POs with the factories through getting to goods to the USA.
a. Plan out the container efficiency and shipping plans
b. Exchange the right documentation with the factories and the shipping companies.
c. Ensure all documents are tracked and organized.

2) Inventory management - Keeping track of everything at the third-party warehouse and managing the weekly shipments into Amazon.
a. Assist in establishing systems and tracking documents (likely airtable)
b. Lead weekly calls with founder and marketplace manager and be able to answer questions like: What goods are in progress? when are the next shipments leaving China? what goods are on water and when will they arrive? What is our current inventory at the 3PL? How many units of X are you shipping to Amazon? What are we running low on?

3) Demand Planning - Eventually, this position would evolve and would assist more on the demand planning to inform the product manufacturing quantities.

This position will evolve and there is lots of room for growth, reasonability and autonomy.
