Financial Accountant

We are an Australian Based Trade Business (roofing industry) who are looking for a Financial Accountant to directly support our Head Of Finance department.

This is a Permanent and full-time role – you will be part of the family, team and Company.

The focus of the role is to support financial accounting operations, ensure accurate and reliable accounting records, and support internal reporting for the board

Support weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of accounts to ensure fulfillment of all the reporting requirements. This includes preparation journals and accurate reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
Preparation of compliance returns including BAS, Payroll Tax, Withholding Tax, Work Cover, and other government reporting as required
Managing and providing backup to the Accounts Payable team, completing selected creditor reconciliations
Cash flow management preparation and assistance
Fixed assets ---------- cludes the processing of asset additions, processing asset disposals, posting monthly depreciation, and completion of an annual fixed asset review
Job costing and variance analysis
Weekly and monthly P&L Reporting and variance analysis between forecasted and actuals
Weekly and monthly sales reporting and calculation of end-of-month incentives
Inventory reconciliation between stock management software and accounting software
Other tasks to include assisting in process improvements, system improvements, and any other tasks or ad hoc requests as assigned by ---------- artered Accounting Degree (preferred)
Knowledgable of Xero and experience with Australian clients (preferred)
