At SoftwareHow, we run a rolling calendar, meaning we publish several articles every day, Monday through Friday. There’s no upper limit on the amount we publish, so that means you can work as much as you want if you get the job, though we set a minimum of one article or review per week.
Payment will be made on a per article or thousand-words basis. We pay US$0.02 per word depending on experience, meaning you can rack up some pretty decent invoices once you get going.
What we’re looking for are people with native or near-native written English and who are comfortable with American use and style. You need to care about our readers and be willing to put in that extra bit of effort to properly inform them of the purchases they’re considering. As such, you need to really be into how software works and translating that into solid copy that
really gets into the nitty-gritty.
The Format, Style: Our tone is positive, energetic and confident, with an emphasis on solutions. I suggest you have a look at the content published on:
How-To Guides / Evergreen Content. For example, “Why Is My Laptop So Slow? 6 Common Reasons (And Quick Fixes)”, “How To Recover Data From Water Damaged IPhone”, “How to Clean up MacBook Pro Hard Drive”“How to Make MacBook Pro Faster”, etc. Don't sell the product or service, sell the idea or solutions, and then you should highlighting the benefits of our products to the audience in your article. These posts should typically be around 1,000-2,500 words
If we like what we see, we’ll invite you to write out an unpaid trial review of 1,000 words which we won’t be publishing, naturally, and if all that goes well you’ll be a brand new member of the SoftwareHow team.
