JOB OVERVIEW

Description

We're an IT management company for small businesses. We provide support, VoIP phone services, custom software development, workstation and server maintenance, and a variety of other IT-related services. We are looking for someone that can provide handle remote technical tasks. At this point, you won't be interacting directly with clients, but good written and spoken English skills are a bonus since it will help in communicating with us.

We're located in Arizona (MST), so you'll be 15 hours ahead of us year-round. Most of the work that you do will be outside of our business hours, because some of it will require that our clients are offline before you can start. Our clients are usually working 8am to 5pm our time. So for you, that will be 11pm to 8am. We are not picky about which times you work, however we do prefer that it be consistent each day, and it would be ideal if you could start at 7am your time, but later would be okay.

Generally your tasks will be given to you as needed (i.e. short tasks might be provided daily, longer tasks might be provided every few days, depending on how long the tasks take) and you'll need to provide us with updates as you progress on each task. We use Slack for internal communication, and we would like for you to notify us each time you log in for the day, and again when you log out, so we know when you're available and when to expect to be able to communicate with you.

Responsibilities:

- Remote into our servers (which we use to provide services to our clients) to setup, configure, install, or enhance various services.
- Remote into client workstations, servers, and networks to perform assigned technical tasks. Remote access will be through a variety of protocols, such as web, SSH, RDP, VNC, or AnyDesk.

Skills and Qualifications that will be helpful:

- VPN setup and support.
- Email setup (IMAP, POP, Webmail, Exchange).
- Mastery with Outlook and Outlook profile transfers.
- Excellent Windows desktop skills.
- Experience with printer setups.
- Experience with WiFi networks.
- Detail oriented and able to create and maintain documentation.
- Troubleshooting MS Office issues.
- Activating/reactivating Microsoft products.
- Remote Windows desktop upgrades.
- Excellent written and spoken English skills.
- Solid and reliable internet connection.
- Working with Linux environments, particularly Apache, Samba, NFS, bash, etc.

Your daily work will consist of your supervisor assigning tasks to you based on our needs. You may have some tasks scheduled for the day, and you may have some tasks that just pop up in the middle of the day that require quick action on your part.
