System Admin - Linux

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES / KEY RESULT AREA

· Perform Linux/Unix/Windows server administration and operations support in an on-premise/public cloud datacenter environment
· Perform physical and virtual server provisioning; OS installation, configuration, upgrades of operating systems
· Perform monitoring and maintenance of physical and virtual servers (Window/Linux/Unix servers)
· Provide 2nd level systems admin (e.g. server and storage) operations support for incidents and service requests
· Work with IT service desk, application support teams, and other technical teams for on-time resolution of incidents and completion of service requests
· Perform thorough and proper troubleshooting and analysis and ensure on-time resolution of technical issues
· Manage and coordinate escalated issues with technology vendors, as necessary
· Server storage application performance and availability monitoring
· Proactively introduce/propose and implement initiatives, new technical methods, and/or process enhancements for operational improvements
· Receive technical escalations; as systems admin consultant for other internal teams as necessary, in case of complex issues or operational deliverables
· Conduct technical training/knowledge transfer to fellow team members and other teams, as required


QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCES

• Practical knowledge/experience in virtual infrastructure administration and support (e.g. VMware ESX/ESXi, VSphere/vCenter management)
• At least 4 years of experience or equivalent practical knowledge in Windows server administration; with good exposure to Active Directory infrastructure administration (e.g. Windows server 2008/2012)
• At least familiar with or has 1 year experience or equivalent practical knowledge on remote/shared storage and backup infrastructure support and administration (eg HP enterprise storage, IBM Storage Manager)
