Structural Designer Duties and Responsibilities
1)Prepare reports, designs and drawings.
2)Make calculations about pressures, loads and stresses.
3)Consider the strength of construction materials and select appropriately.
4)Provide technical advice on safe designs and construction.
5)Obtain planning and/or building regulations approval.
5)Analyze configurations of the basic components of a structure.
6)Liaise with professional staff such as architects and engineers.
7)Use computer aided design technology for simulation purposes

1)Advanced knowledge of construction methods, materials and legal regulations.
2)Sound understanding of physics and mathematics.
3)Ability to liaise with professionals from other disciplines.
4)Three-dimensional conceptual skills.
5)Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
6)Meticulous attention to detail with the superb organizational skills.
7)Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Structural Designer Education and Training
1)The minimum requirement is a bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
2)Experience Software Skills
3)8 years (Graduated before 2011). Structural designers should also have experience using
CAD software, and should ensure that they’re up to date with the latest versions.
