Social Media Copywriter

We are a New Zealand-based social media video agency that produces authentic stories told to camera by kiwi business owners.

We help our clients generate growth, awareness and attention for their business on Facebook and LinkedIn.

We're a young but growing specialist organic video agency, meaning we don't do the work of a social media agency or digital marketing agency. We just do video and we do that really well.

2020 is shaping as a growth year for us so we'll need to grow our team of our fantastic Filipino Video Editor to include our copywriter.

Our clients are medium-sized businesses who get between 4 and 12 videos produced for them per month. We plan, shoot, edit, caption and copywriter, then send them out ---------- ’s for the busy but hungry business owner or personal brand, that is willing to put themselves out of there comfort zone and win on social media.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Someone who love writing stories that connect with human beings, in 1300 characters.

You’ll have an excellent command of English – along with the different styles, types and genres in which to bring facts to life that takes the reader on a journey.

But most importantly, you’ll understand social media and the ability to be clear, concise, and use simple language that is designed for everyone.

You’ll pride yourself on your use of grammar, punctuation and spelling, and may even know how to write New Zealand English. If you have knowledge of who we are as people, then you’ll know how to communicate to our whanau and that will be advantageous to you but not compulsory.

WHAT DOES A WORK WEEK LOOK LIKE?
? Get reacquainted with New Zealanders and what is important to them.
? Spending some time researching our clients and their clients.
? Developing story lines or characters that bring creativity to you posts
? Telling those stories in words that connect on Facebook and LinkedIn.


BUT HANG ON! WHAT ABOUT ME
We have 20 hours each week and we think that you’ll get the copy written in under half that time.
We want you to invest in understanding our clients and who their customers are.
We want you to grow with us so if you have capacity to increase those available hours as more clients are mesmerized by your stories, then that will be highly regarded.
We pay weekly to a nominated PayPal account.
We expect your monthly salary to be between USD $350-$400 based on 20 hours per week.
We’ll operate time tracker software so we can better understand how you work and what you need to thrive.
We plan to integrate incentives for our team in mid-2020.

WHAT YOU'LL HAVE TO GET ON THE SHORTLIST
A reliable, stable, fast internet connection – one that is on, 99% of the time
Microsoft Word and a laptop to pull it all together – easy I know
Some experience in life – our clients’ audience are business owners 35+ so you’ll be comfortable talking to Gen Y, Gen X and The Boomers and know what they like.
2+ years of writing social media posts
Most importantly, you know the power of “story”

WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF YOU'RE SHORTLISTED?
We’ll ask you to complete a short, written brief based on our current clients so you can show us how you craft a story and demonstrate your capability and effectiveness and we’ll be asking you about New Zealand and why it’s loved all over the world. We expect to start our chosen team member on 1st February 2020.
