Scientific Copywriter:
We are searching for an English language technical copywriter to work for our group of companies.
The role requires a passion for science and for writing, and the urge to communicate successfully to a wide audience
Key requirements: Excellent English language comprehension, grammar and writing skills. Degree level scientific expertise, in any discipline. Ability to listen and learn. Clarity and focus to set science within a commercial setting. Good prioritisation and deadline management.
The role requires a dedicated writer who can self-edit and learn from the approval process. The successful candidate will combine language that suits the client company, as well as an understanding of their science and company messaging, to create compelling written copy. The candidate must be able to tailor the content, tone and structure of the written piece to suit the media opportunity (print or digital).
The candidate will be required to produce accurate, detailed copy that requires little re-work/ editing either internally or by the client. They must be able to develop the trust of our internal teams to become a valued resource, able to deliver accurately ahead of deadline. They must also develop a standing with the client, to build trust for their views and be judged by their output, and to be able to enhance business opportunities for the group based on the quality of their work.
Specific job activities::
Write press releases or blogs
Edit customer materials such as posters and application notes for media use.
Draft articles or white papers and manage the approval process to the satisfaction of the client
Interview clients or their customers and use the materials gathered to produce case studies or testimonials, managing approvals satisfactorily
Demonstrate self-editing capabilities to produce clean, well-checked copy
Research, collate and present information
Copywrite for advertising and email programmes (which require more promotional focus and a focus on call to action)
